Cemetery Rules & Reminders

As a general rule, Christmas wreathes, grave blankets and all other seasonal adornments must be removed by April 15 or by when it becomes necessary to facilitate cemetery operations such as mowing.

Mount Albion Cemetery does not allow adornments that are considered offensive, inconsistent with the dignity of the cemetery or deemed hazardous to cemetery employees and visitors. In addition, permanent plantings, landscape stones, lawn edging, statues, breakable objects and other similar items are not permitted on graves at any time.

The practice of placing numerous objects on and around gravesites adversely impacts the area, impedes proper lawn maintenance and significantly increases time and labor costs. These items also pose a hazard to cemetery personnel as they can become entangled in mowers and other power equipment causing serious injury. Grave owners are encouraged to assist cemetery staff by removing such objects as soon as possible.

Mount Albion Cemetery assumes no responsibility for the loss or damage to any object or article left upon any grave in the cemetery. Artificial flowers and potted plants are permitted on graves at any time throughout the year. If you have any questions regarding compliance issues, please call the Cemetery Office during normal business hours.

Thank you.
